 PRESS RELEASE |
26/04/2010 |
Shifting of Ticketing System to Mgarr
Due to the works which the Transport Malta will be doing on the new Passenger Terminal in Cirkewwa, the purchase of tickets will be transferred from Cirkewwa to Mgarr.
The changeover will take place during the night of the 27th April 2010.
Thus, with effect from Wednesday, 28th April, both the purchase of tickets and their validation will be effected at Mgarr, whilst at the Cirkewwa end passengers and vehicles will only queue and board, without the need to have their tickets validated. This should result in a quicker embarkation from Cirkewwa as both vehicles and passengers can proceed immediately to the vessel through the appropriate routes. At the Mgarr end, passengers and vehicles will need to purchase tickets and have them validated, in the same way as they do presently in Cirkewwa. The full procedure is explained hereunder. Mgarr Prior to entering the Marshalling Area, one has to be in possession of a valid ticket. Three ticket booths for vehicles are available at the entrance to the Marshalling Area, whilst foot passengers, can purchase their tickets from the ticket booth located at the Passenger Terminal.
Sa Maison Tickets for commuters wishing to use the Sa Maison service can be bought from the Company’s ticket booths at Mgarr. The tickets will then be collected by the Master or his representative prior to embarkation on the vessel.
‘IMMORRU GHAWDEX’ WINTER OFFER SCHEME
Due to the shift of the ticketing system to Gozo, the ‘Immorru Ghawdex’ Scheme, which used to offer incentives for customers travelling to Gozo on specific trips, shall be discontinued.
Gozo Channel officers will be doing their utmost to reduce any inconvenience that this change might cause. The Company is making a specific telephone line available – 22109000 – for further information.
Thank you,
The Management
