Press Release

Transport Malta announces temporary arrangements of the facilities at the Ċirkewwa Terminal, which will be operational as from Wednesday 20th April at 12.00 pm.
The temporary arrangements include better facilities providing foot passenger shelter (450 metres squared), a Gozo Channel info-point, a bar, public conveniences, police station and the bus terminus, all of which are located in the zone between the marshalling area and the Comino berth and shall remain in place until the new ferry terminal is completed.
This new zone, between the marshalling area and the Comino berth, is accessible only to foot passengers, Public Transport Route Buses, Transport Malta and Police vehicles, disabled badge holders and other vehicles providing a service. No other vehicle waiting for the ferry, or for parking can enter the zone.
The temporary bus terminus has been constructed in line with the Public Transport Reform Programme. To facilitate access for those foot passengers being dropped off by private car, an area is also being provided in which vehicles can temporarily stop to drop-off or collect foot passengers making use of the ferry. The coaches and mini buses parking area shall remain in the current location.
During the transition period, Transport Malta will be deploying officers to help in directing passengers and vehicles and to minimize any inconvenience, whilst the plans providing further information regarding the new foot passenger and vehicular access routes and the location of the new facilities are being communicated also through the Transport Malta Website : http://www.transport.gov.mt
The Cirkewwa Ferry Terminal project is being part-financed by the European Union Operational Programme I -- Cohesion Policy 2007-13 Investing in Competitiveness for a Better Quality of Life.
